Job Description: Infection Control Nurse

Summary:

• Facility: Mee Memorial Hospital
  
• Location: King City, CA
  
• Unit/Specialty: Infection Control
  
• Shift: 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift
  

Requirements:

• Education: Associate of Science degree in a healthcare related field (medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health, or biology), Bachelor's degree preferred
  
• Work Experience: Minimum of two years clinical experience in field of study. Six months previous experience in Infection Control in an Acute Care Hospital, additional Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred
  
• Skills Requirements: Knowledgeable in use of computer systems including Cerner EHR and of usual data reporting programs such as NHSN. Ability to present surveillance data in a professional, non-threatening manner, and negotiate the spectrum of responses such data may elicit from the clinical, nursing, and medical staff
  
• Licensing/Certification: Current entry-level licensure in a healthcare field (nursing, laboratory, microbiology) preferred. Current AHA BLS required. Certified Infection Control (CIC) required, may obtain within one year of employment
  
• Language Requirements: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  
• Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and push/pull up to 25 pounds. Must be able to bend, reach overhead and kneel. Eyesight sufficiently corrected to work at a computer screen. Ability to ambulate
  
• Special Demands: Willing to perform repetitive tasks. Ability to work well with others and to perform a variety of assigned duties
  

Additional Information:

OVERTIME & BILLING RULES: Billing Cycle is weekly. Any missed meals and breaks must be pre-approved by Supervisor prior to missing and will be paid with proof of approval. Overtime Policy: The overtime rate for any hours worked in excess of 40 hours/week shall be billable at the Regular Hourly Rate plus $10/hr. The holiday rate shall be defined as the Regular Hourly Rate plus $10/hr. The on-call rate shall be defined in the Job Posting. Note: For any 10-hour or 12-hour shifts, the Agency is to invoice MMH the All-Inclusive Rate for the entire shift. There is no elevated billing allowed for hours 9, 10, 11 & 12. Housing can be somewhat difficult to find. The facility prefers credentialing be sent in one batch. It is acceptable and encouraged to provide updates but please send compliance all at the same time once completed.
